Another first - Dad feeds Will

This is a first in more than 1 respect. Obviously its the first time I've fed Will, and I have to say I very much enjoyed it. I was amazed by how strongly he sucked away at the bottle. Its also actually the first time I've bottle fed any of my children. Both Jack and Cleo outright rejected bottle feeding, so I didn't have that opportunity before. As per my short update this morning things have gone well with Will. They are now planning to increase his food intake to 6 mls, then up to 10mls per feed. He's still not 100% on the food processing but doing much better. For the bottle I am feeding him in this picture it is just 3mls, as he already has 3mls in his stomach. We also discovered that they bath Will every morning at 7am. While they won't let us in then, they will hold off on the bath until we're around so that we can do it. Very exciting as its great to be able to interact with him in real tangible ways, as opposed to sit by his bedside while he sleeps (which is also nice, but its easy to feel a little useless just sitting there). Thanks Sonia so much for your wise comments yesterday. I now realise that as time has progressed my trust has been moving from God to myself / Doctors. We need to continually hand the situation to God and let him choose what happens - hard as that may seem to us at various times. Please pray that we will continue to have faith in God's goodness, regardless of the situation.

Baby feeding and baths, time for more up close and personal contact with Will and a reminder of how precious all these moments are. I pray for more of these magic moments and for your continued strength in the Lord in the face of ups and downs and feeling helpless. I ask God to continue to surround you all with love and support.

Harold and Julie, Heard from Nell Merrit this morning, Evelyn let them know and Carmen Gordon is keeping a watch on your blog for herself, they are praying for Will and for you also, Roger Boyle rang up and I told him he said,"There's 2 more praying now" He and Judy are fine, getting older though, like us. Each time you add to the blog there is another little improvement. I can only praise God for each one and remember that St. Paul, "Ask with thanksgiving" So I thank him that he has heard our prayers, thank him that he loves us and that everything will work out according to his will, and that it is his will that all people should be whole. One thing else, I thank him that under preasure your own faith is growing and developing, no matter what happens God will bring you through as stronger and better people. We all continue to pray and to hold you all up to the liht of God's love and healing power. We love you all, God bless you, Mum and Dad.

Fantastic news - what a joy for yu to be able to have the contact with Will at last. I sometimes wonder why we are all so amazed when God answers our prayers so faithfully - He has given us enough examples of His grace and mercy! - but am so thankful for His love for us all, especially for Will and his family right now.

Hi Harry & Jules,
great news. I am so glad that all is going so well for Will. I will contiue to keep both Will and Isaac in my preayers. Having looked at Sonia & Jong's blogspot I now feel like Isaac is part of our family and I can not think of Will with out thinking of Isaac.

Thank you for the information and photos. I am going to print them and make an album to always have; and yes I agree with Martin this is a great way to keep in touch.

Love to all of you.

Evelyn

It's so hard to keep giving control to God - and then giving it again. I've been learning that the hard way myself in the past few months, so we'll really be praying that you guys can let him be in complete charge - who knows better than He, after all?

It's Philippians 4 time: to not be anxious, but to present everything to God in prayer and let his amazing peace cover it all.

You're doing such a great job - and so is God, isn't he? It's wonderful to really get a good look at little Will's face. :-)

Such an adorable face, lovely hair, beautiful eyes...so nice to see a soft and gorgeous baby come out from under all those wires and tubes! What tender love between mom/dad/Will, what a journey, what a loving Lord we have. We are reminded of our own days sitting beside little Emi's incubator, waiting and wondering, learning and growing, as you are...we are praying for you, dear friends.
