37 and falling
Great news again today. Will's girth has fallen to 37cm (I believe the "normal" size should be somewhere between 25 and 30cm). Theres no question now as to whether or not he's processing the fluid natuarlly. They've also stepped up his feeding. He's now moving to 20ml's. This morning when we visited him we got to both watch him have a bath (video attached - do you like the new tricky embeded way - thanks to Jon Cheng, the ultimate computer nerd), and feed him. As you can see in the bath, he didn't really like getting his face washed, but loved sitting in the bath.
As for the feed, it was 15ml's (a step up from 10ml's toward the target 20mls). We managed to get him to take 10mls before he fell so soundly asleep that we couldn't get him to take another thing. The last 5mls were given to him via the tube into his stomach. While it looks uncomfortable, I guess there are millions of mothers out there who wish they had this option to ensure their children are eating enough.
Tomorrow they plan to take out 1 of the tubes in his arm (leaving the drip), and the thing on his foot that measures blood pressure. These are great steps forward. He will then have only the nasal canular, the drip and the cathetor left. If his feeding continues as it is at the moment and he gets to full feeding (apparantly 60mls per feed), then he'll loose the drip also. Once the drip and canular are gone, he will graduate from intensive care to special care. One step closer to home.
Of course we don't know how long this will take. It will happen in God's time.
Thanks again so much for your prayer. Its fair to say that Will is by no means critical now. He's making a steady recovery thanks only to the work of God (as the Doctors still have no idea what caused or fixed the problem).
We continue to be very thankful to God for the wonderful blessing is to us, for the great work God has done for him, and for the blessing of the very skilled and well equiped hospital staff.

Fantastic Harry, your joy is shining through, detecting the proud father bit as well. Val and I are over the moon for you and Jules who I imagine is as much the proud mum as you the dad. May things keep on improving for Will. Looking forward to the day when we can see a photo of the whole clan together. Val and I send our love. P.S. Be ready for another novel from mum, she'll be over the moon too.
Praise God! Isn't this awesome!
Will's tummy looks heaps smaller now.
We showed a few pictures of Will on the big screen at church today, including the one of Harry feeding Will - your 'blokey' reputation at St John's is in tatters, Harry!
Still praying for you all.
Love Saim
Praise God. I'm so glad. We will keep praying here.
Love

Hi guys,
Prayers from all at Grosvenor Road baptist church this morning led by John. Have been in touch with Maeve too, who sends love and prayers in abundance.
Loved the video, showed Sam (many tears here for you and us), moving to bathtime seemed such a step of confidence in our case - somehow he was touchable, wouldn't break (our first :) They must be encouraged by his strength as we are. Great to see blessings come out of the storm, well done Harry for holding the bottle! Love to you Jules, whatever you are doing: it's just great - good enough. We pray for continued healing for you all.
Once again another first and wow didn't Will like sitting in the bath, I could tell the nurse was excited too even though I don't know what she said. I keep you all in my prayers
Gotta love that bath! :-)
So happy to hear that things are continuing to improve... prayer is being interspersed with much praise right now!
